eBay Profits Problem, What Gives?
This is an eMail I wrote my Son who wants to sell on eBay but couldn’t understand why some products up for auction were priced less than he paid Wholesale.

I have a lifetime membership in Worldwide Brands and got interested again after reading about SaleHoo. If you are going to make money on eBay even though it’s the worlds largest marketplace you must learn everything about it. Both sites have lots of infomation to study and like everything else the more you get involved the better you will become.
This is true of anything online.
Once you discover any method to make money you will make 1000 times more by teaching others how to do it. That’s just a fact of marketing at the present time. That’s why information products are so good. However plenty of prople make a great living on eBay selling products and most give information for free.
The company supplies information on where to buy products, drop ship products and all recommended companies have been screened. Now as we well know selling on eBay can be hard because of the fact that most people are kind of looking for a bargain.
So some of them may be selling for a low price and you can’t make a profit on most products unless you buy from pre-verified Liquidation Wholesalers who sell Brand Name products at rock bottom, below wholesale prices.
This isn’t always true because I have sold for a profit but as we both know from experience you must get the product at a low price and that’s not easy.
Some sellers are DUMPING products on eBay all the time. They may have a warehouse full of stuff they want to get rid of or a closed business so the price is hard to compete with. You can compete with Much Nicer Pictures and a great sales page if you know how.
However that isn’t where the big money is anyway. The money is in the LIST. This is the list of happy customers you gather over time and have permission to send them new offers of similar products from time to time.
So the trick as I have learned it is to use helper sites to do a lot of the hard work and keep track of your list. They also keep you from SPAMING with their automatic double op in signup list. And their emails get through to your customers 99% of the time.
This method isn’t new and is being used today by eBay power sellers and others to run successful businesses. Both companies have lot’s of teaching for free to learn the business.
The method goes like this:
1. worldwidebrands.com/ or SaleHoo for Products and information
2. Picking product line. WWB has guides on each product. What do people want to buy?
3. Using Auctiva to make auctions easier to keep track of everything. FREE
4. Using AWeber Build lasting relationships with an automated sequence of personalized messages. They keep track of the LIST and send out your offers on auto pilot whenever you want. They supply the signup forms on your sites. $20 a month or less and people who know say it is the most important part of the whole process.
Why, because the Money is in the LIST to resell products with your emails or newsletter a simple one is all that is needed. Little reasearch every morning and using PLAIN TALK. Just a little info on subject that’s all. So even if the profit isn’t there from the first sale on eBay the more valuable part is their info to create your LIST.
5. Keep LIST happy by every once in a while send them a Bargain offer or even a simple little free item you paid little for from one of your suppliers.
So the idea is to use eBay (the world’s biggest marketplace) with their built in traffic to build your list. That’s why PowerSellers sometimes sell so low and don’t make a profit because they know where the money is. It’s in the L….well, you know.
